Marian Hossa is quietly having one of his best season's yet and is a big reason why the Blackhawks are first in the NHL in points. Hossa's 40 points are tied for the 6th most in the NHL this year. His plus 22 rating is among the best in the best in hockey.
At the age of 32, Hossa is on pace for 89 points, which would be the 3rd highest point total of his career. He's also on pace for his eighth season with 30 or more goals.
Hossa, who did not make the all-star team last year, should be a lock for it this year. His 158,705 votes is the 15th highest so far after week six of the All-Star Game fan balloting.
"It's good to see him contributing on a consistent basis", says Hawks captain Jonathan Toews. "He's so effective in so many ways. He goes out there and creates a lot.
"So it's nice to see him get those rewards. He's one of those guys who keeps playing no matter where it's going in or out. He's a big part of our offense lately."
Could Hossa's sucess this season end up leading the Blackhawks to their second Stanley Cup in three seasons?
