Daniel Carcillo has injured himself, and will be suspended for his hit on Tom Gilbert of the Oilers. That's a first. I don't think I've ever seen a player injure himself and get suspended at the same time..... During the second period of Chicago's 4-3 loss to Edmonton, Carcillo and Gilbert were racing for the puck and Carcillo shoved Gilbert from behind into the boards. On the play, when Gilbert was falling down, he fell on Carcillo's leg. Both players were left injured. Carcillo was given a five minute major penalty for the hit and a game misconduct.

Carcillo has already been suspended once this season. He has been suspended indefinitely for this hit on the Oilers defenseman and will have a hearing from the NHL soon.
