The Los Angeles Kings have apologized for their tweet made following their Game One win over the Vancouver Canucks. The tweet, "to everyone in Canada outside of BC, you're welcome", sparked a controversy. Kings vice president of communications and broadcasting, Mike Altieri, recently apologized to anyone who found it offensive.
"We encourage our digital team to be creative, interactive and to apply a sense of humour whenever possible," said Altieri. "To anyone who found it offensive we sincerely apologize."
The Vancouver Canucks meanwhile, don't really care about what's happening in "Twitter World".
"I wouldn't care about the Twitter world," said Canucks coach Alain Vigneault. "I care about the Stanley Cup playoffs, and we're going to focus on Game 2."
