The past week was a very eventful week of hockey. Here's a recap.
Rick Nash made one of the best passes I have ever seen against the Boston Bruins on Tuesday. With the Rangers down by a goal, Nash deked around a Bruins defenseman, fell to the ice but somehow still managed to make a ridiculous pass to Carl Hagelin. Hagelin just had to put it into an open net. A free goal for him. See for yourself...
Daniel Alfredsson is being referred to as god after the popular iPhone app, 'Siri', said he indeed is. When Siri is asked, "Show me a picture of god", a picture of Daniel Alfredsson shows up. Siri is used by many people for several different voice commands. Nobody really knows how this happened.
"My money is on that it's a good prank that somebody has pulled within Apple. That would be my guess," said the Senators captain.
The biggest and most unfortunate news in the hockey world this past week was Erik Karlsson's scary injury against the Pittsburgh Penguins. In a race for the puck along the boards with Matt Cooke, Erik Karlsson's left achilles was cut by Cooke's skate blade. Watch the video here.
Usually you see referees coming in and breaking up a fight, but in this case, the ref was the one fighting. After calling a hooking penalty on a player and then getting knocked over by him, this Russian referee decided to drop the gloves.
Thomas Vanek is continuing to have an unbelievable season, with 23 points in 13 games. That's a pace of over 145 points in an 82 game season (assuming he plays all 82 games). See the full NHL statistics here. Somehow though, the Sabres are still tied for dead last in the Eastern Conference.
