Boston Bruins advance to Eastern Conference Final

The Boston Bruins successfully closed out the New York Rangers in five games with a 3-1 victory Saturday afternoon.  in this game Boston demonstrated exactly why they are, where they are. This is a team that has confidence in rolling four lines. Today, because of that the Boston Bruins advance to the Eastern Conference Final in the 2013 NHL Playoffs.

Gregory Campbell scored twice, including an empty-netter with less than a minute left. Torey Krug scored his fourth of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Tuukka Rask made 28 saves as the Bruins landed a date with the Penguins, who also needed five games to dispatch the Ottawa Senators.

The New York Rangers actually scored first in the contest, Dan Girardi's powerplay point shot gave the Rangers the lead midway through the first frame. The strange thing about this series is the fact that the first goal did not seem to matter. The team who scored first in each game lost.

New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist gave them every chance to win making 29 saves. At the end of the day, the New York Rangers did not get enough production out of those expected to score such as Rick Nash who only recorded one goal in  the entire playoffs.

New York will have many questions to answer after this early exit. This is a team who even I thought had a chance to win the Stanley Cup. The whole Brad Richards situation was puzzling understand this guy is a proven playoff performer I don't care what he has done in previous games his natural instincts in critical situations such as elimination games would help you win.

When Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask is making point-blank breakaway saves off of players like Rangers captain Ryan Callahan with the season on the line instead of giving up freebies, chances are the Boston Bruins are going to advance and they did.

Congratulations, on making it to the Eastern Conference finals Boston!
