Over a span of 1436 games with seven different NHL teams, Jaromir Jagr has earned $117.8 million, the most a player has ever earned in NHL history, according to CapGeek.com. Jagr has 1723 points during his career, tying him for seventh with Mario Lemieux for all-time point-getters. That's an income of $68,369 per NHL point he gets!
"So where do some of the greatest players from our era rank? Wayne Gretzky is 109th at $42.6 million, Mario Lemieux is (fittingly) 66th at $52.5 million and Patrick Roy is 45th at $59.2 million. It’s important to remember the numbers are calculated from 1990 onwards, meaning significant portions of Gretzky’s and Lemieux’s careers are not included. Of course, their average pays during the 1980s ($2 million per or less) were small potatoes by today’s standards." - The Hockey News.
Some of the notable current players on this list are Vincent Lecavalier at 6th, Martin Brodeur at 8th, Brad Richards at 11th, Jarome Iginla at 14th, and Joe Thornton at 16th.
