Carcillo Suspended Two Games

Posted by Talk Hockey on October 29, 2011 at 7:25 PM

Daniel Carcillo has been suspended two games for his reckless hit on Hurricanes defencemen Joni Pitkanen. Carcillo was racing for the puck behind Pitkanen, and shoved him into the boards on a very dangerous play that could have been much worse. There was no penalty called on the play.

Carcillo has already been suspended three times in his career after five full seasons, most notably his sucker punch on Matt Bradley in 2009 for which he received a four game ban. Due to the fact that he's been a multiple offender, I think Carcillo should find himself lucky that he's only been banned two games for this one. The Shanaban toll it at 13 now.

Repeat offenders should automatically get more games. 5-8 at least for this reckless incident.
