During the third period between Carolina and Philadelphia tonight, Flyers forward Claude Giroux was cut in the left leg by Justin Faulk’s skate. While being helped off the ice by his teammates and the medical staff, a classy gesture was made by opposing player Andrej Sekera.
Sekera stepped up and helped Giroux make his way to the tunnel, by allowing him to lean on his shoulder. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.
Initially, the injury appeared to be very serious. But luckily, Giroux escaped with just a laceration. He is probable for tomorrow’s game.
“I got lucky there,” Giroux said. “I don’t know what to say. I’m just happy I’m good.”
