Filip Forsberg breaks Jonas Brodin's ankles with highlight-reel dangles

Filip Forsberg delivered a highlight-reel performance against the Minnesota Wild. Late in the second period of the game between Minnesota and Nashville, Forsberg dangled past defensemen Jonas Brodin not once, but twice within 15 seconds. The moves sent the defender sprawling to the ice both times.

You can see the second ankle breaker above, but the full sequence below.

These moments are reminiscent of when Pavel Datsyuk famously broke Logan Couture’s ankles with his dazzling dekes.

Forsberg continues to demonstrate why he is one of the most skilled young forwards in the league, adding yet another highlight to his career. He is quickly gaining a reputation for having some of the best stickhandling in the league. He displayed his incredible movies in the 2015 NHL Skills Competition last season.

Forsberg was drafted 11th overall by the Washington Capitals in the 2012 NHL Draft. However, his journey with the Nashville Predators began after a surprising trade in April 2013. The Capitals traded Forsberg to the Predators in exchange for Martin Erat and Michael Latta. So far, the Predators look like the easy winners of this lopsided trade.

In his first full season with the Predators during 2014-15, the Swedish forward had 63 points in 82 games, making a significant impact as a rookie.
