




Finland forward Kasperi Kapanen played hero at the 2016 World Junior Championship, scoring the gold medal winning goal in overtime, and at home in Helsinki. Above is a video of the goal from the Finnish Feed.
Prior to the overtime period Russia had tied the game with a mere 6.9 seconds left in regulation, stunning the Finnish players and the crowd. However, it wasn’t enough as they failed to score in overtime and went on to capture their second silver medal in two years. The final score was 4-3.
This tournament never fails to have showcase some epic hockey, year in and year out. Congratulations to Team Finland on their second gold medal in three years!
